Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Lloyd Event Technology ("we", "us", "our") is a ticketing platform for event organisers and their attendees. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at tickets@lloydeventtechnology.co.uk.
2. What personal data we collect
We collect the following types of personal data:
- Account and organiser data: if you create an organiser account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), and details about your organisation, such as its name, contact email and address.
- Buyer and attendee data: when you buy a ticket, we collect the name, email address, billing address and ticket details you provide at checkout, so that tickets can be issued and, where required, payment can be processed.
- Technical data: we keep limited technical information, such as IP addresses and access logs, for security, fraud prevention and to keep an audit trail of important account actions.
3. How and why we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To perform our contract with you: to create your account, process ticket orders, issue tickets, and provide customer support.
- For our legitimate interests: to prevent fraud, keep our platform secure, maintain audit logs of account and payment activity, and to understand how our service is used so we can improve it.
- To comply with the law: for example, keeping records needed for tax and accounting purposes.
4. Who we share your data with
We share personal data with the following third parties, only as needed to provide our service:
- Stripe: our payment processor. Card details you enter at checkout are sent directly to Stripe and never pass through or are stored on our servers. Stripe may process this data outside the UK, subject to its own legal safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
- Our email provider: used to send order confirmations, tickets and account-related emails (such as verification and password reset links).
- The event Organiser: if you buy a ticket for an event, we share the details needed to deliver that event and check you in (such as your name and ticket type) with the Organiser. Organisers are independent data controllers for the data they receive about their attendees, and have their own responsibilities for how they use it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Where your data is stored
Our platform is hosted on servers based in the UK. Where data is shared with third parties such as Stripe (see section 4), it may be processed outside the UK under that provider's own safeguards.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. For buyers, personal details such as name, email, address and phone number are automatically anonymised a number of months after the related event has taken place (currently set to a minimum of 6 months, to cover typical payment dispute and chargeback windows). After anonymisation, order and ticket records are retained without any personal details attached, for our accounting records.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your session during checkout. For full details, see our Cookie policy.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to erase your data, where applicable;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at tickets@lloydeventtechnology.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Children
Our service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
