Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to book tickets, run events and check people in with Lloyd Event Technology, including people who use a screen reader, a magnifier, a keyboard or voice control.

What we aim for

We build every page to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That covers this website, organisers' event pages and checkout, the organiser dashboard, the emails and tickets we send, and the check-in app on scanning phones.

You should be able to:

  • use every page with a keyboard alone
  • use a screen reader, with every field labelled and every error message linked to its field
  • zoom in, or use a phone, without the page scrolling sideways
  • use your device's dark mode on our own pages and the dashboard (organisers' pages stay light, so their colours stay readable)
  • tell what something means without relying on colour: results, statuses and errors are always in words too

How we check

We check every page against WCAG 2.2 A and AA with an automated tool, axe-core, in light and dark mode and at phone and desktop widths, and validate its HTML. Every email and every screen of the check-in app is checked with axe-core too. We run these checks when we change a page.

Automated checks only find some kinds of problem. We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit, or tested the site with disabled people. We plan to, and will update this page when we have.

Problems we know about

  • Paying by card. The card form comes from Stripe, our payment provider. We style it to match, but we cannot change how it works. If you cannot use it, contact the event's organiser, who may be able to take your booking another way.
  • The time limit at checkout. Your tickets are held for 10 minutes while you book, and we warn you 1 minute before the end. We cannot extend it, because other people may be waiting for the same tickets. If time runs out, we keep the details you typed, so trying again is quick.
  • PDF tickets. The PDF version of your tickets is not set up for screen readers. The tickets on your booking page show the same details as a web page, and work with a screen reader.
  • The security check. Some forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop automated abuse. It usually needs nothing from you. If it asks you to do something you cannot, contact us.
  • What organisers write. Event descriptions, photos and ticket images come from each organiser. We limit the formatting they can use, so headings and lists still work, but we cannot check everything they write.
  • Choosing a place on the map in the organiser dashboard needs a mouse or touch screen. You can type the address instead, and it is saved without a pin.

Tell us about a problem

If something does not work for you, or you need information in another format, contact us. Say which page you were on and what happened, and we will tell you what we can do.

For access at an event itself, such as step-free entry or carer tickets, contact the event's organiser. Their contact details are on the event page.
